There are only 4 FPL matches on in game week 29 due to most other teams playing in the FA cup this weekend. The fixtures that are being played in the Premier League are:
- Burnley vs Brentford
- Luton vs Nottingham Forest
- Fulham vs Tottenham Hostpur
- West Ham vs Aston Villa
Due to such a small amount of games, most FPL mangers that still have the free hit chip available, will be activating it this week to ensure they have a full team of playing players. Therefore, I’ve made some drafts and come up with what I think is the best FPL free hit team for GW29.
FPL Free Hit Strategy
With such a small amount of games this week, we’re going to be doing a lot of double ups and triple ups. Ideally though, we don’t want our attackers playing against our defenders so we have maximum upside potential.
So, before starting to choose your FPL free hit team for GW29, its best to predict which teams you think will win each fixture. Then, don’t pick defenders from the losing teams, and make sure you pick attackers from the winning teams.
Best FPL Free Hit Team for GW29
Lets get down to it. Here’s my free hit team for GW29:
Goalkeepers
Mark Flekken | Brentford | £4.5m
Brentford are the most likely team to keep a clean sheet in GW29. The play Burnley away who are currently bottom of the league and have one of the worst attacks in the division. I expect an easy Brentford win.
Thomas Kaminski | Luton | £4.5m
I expect Luton and Forest to be a close game. Kaminski is going to be my bench goal keeper as I think he’s the 2nd best option for this game week. Not because I think he’ll keep a clean sheet, but Luton are conceding shots like crazy at the moment, so I think he’ll get some save points.
Defenders
Pedro Porro | Spurs | £5.8m
I don’t really expect Spurs to keep a clean sheet away at Fulam, however there is a small chance. The main reason I have Porro is for his attacking returns. He is always incredibly advanced for a right back, has plenty of touches in the box and takes some corners. Definitely my first choice defender for the week.
Sergio Reguilon | Brentford | £4.4m
Reguilon should be passed fit for the game, however he does have a yellow warning on the FPL app currently, so he’s one to keep an eye on. As mentioned Brentford are most likely to keep a clean sheet, so heopfully we will see some clean sheet points. Reguilon also takes corners, and Burnley have the worst defensive set piece record in the league currently. So Reguilon coupled with Ivan Toney as a striker could be a deadly combination for GW29.
Alfie Doughty | Luton | £4.7m
Luton’s key danger man. Again, I don’t expect a clean sheet. Doughty takes free kicks and corners, and is very advanced. He’s earned lots of assists this season so that’s why he’s in my free hit team for GW29.
Matty Cash | Aston Villa | £4.6m
Cash is another advanced full back playing for an attacking Villa side. He had a good number of shots in the box last week and is their most attacking defender.
Vladimir Coufal | West Ham | £4.6m
Coufal is probably going to be my 3rd bench player. He’s here because he’s nailed on to start and i don’t have any other Villa or Spurs slots left.
Midfielders
James Maddison | Spurs | £8m
One of Spurs’ biggest goal threats, Maddison has returned in his last 2 games. A dangerous player who’s always in and around the box, creating and scoring chances.
Jarrod Bowen | West Ham | £8m
Bowen is West Ham’s talisman. If West Ham score, he’s usually involved. He’s the 5th highest scoring midfielder this season. No matter the fixture, he always has a chance of scoring points.
Son Heung-min | Spurs | £10m
Son is Spurs’ danger man and a potential captain option this week. 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 2 games, makes him one of the most in-form players in the league at the moment. A must have for GW29.
Douglas Luiz | Aston Villa | £5.7m
Aston Villa’s penalty taker. With that threat, he always has a chance of returns. He’s Aston Villa’s highest scoring midfielder so far this season and is nailed to start every week.
Mohammed Kudus | West Ham | £6.8m
Kudus is an explosive player. Playing at home against a Villa side that shipped 4 goals last week to Spurs, he could be in with a chance of returns. Kudus has struggled for returns since he’s come back from AFCON, but we know he’s capable of big things with 3 double digit returns to his name this season.
Forwards
Ivan Toney | Brentford | £8.2m
Toney is Brentford’s main goal scorer. Since he’s come back from suspension, he’s had 5 returns in 9 games, though those 9 games involved facing, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal an Chelsea. It was a very tough fixture run. Now he faces Burnley, who, as mentioned, have one of the worst defences in the league, especially when it comes to set pieces.
Rodrigo Muniz | Fulham | £4.5m
Muniz has been on incredible form lately. 4 goals and 1 assist in his last 6 games. He’ll be a differential pick for the week. With lots of managers free hitting this week, differentials will be important as there is a limited pool of players to choose from.
Ollie Watkins | Aston Villa | £9m
Watkins is a no-brainer this week. However, he did come off on Thursday night after 33 mins with a potential injury, so definitely one to keep an eye on.
Staring Lineup and Bench
The blow image show my starting lineup and bench.
My bench will probably consist of Kaminski, Kudus, Cash, Coufal.
Good luck on your free hit for game week 29!
