Who will blank in gameweek 34?

Spurs will have a blank in game week 34 according to the official FPL website.

How we can use this information to target players

It’s almost always optimal to get playing for your FPL team that will have double game weeks. My initial thoughts are targeting Arsenal and Liverpool players as these are the strongest teams. Players like Saka and Salah initially come to mind. But also Arsenal defenders, as their defence has been great lately.

Looking at the fixtures, none seem particularly easy. Liverpool’s look the least difficult but they are 2 away games as part of a 4 away game run. All that travelling could be something to take into consideration.

Crystal Palace play 2 home games against West Ham and Newcastle, who have both been leaky, so Olise or Eze could be worth consideration. They will also probably be differential picks so worth considering if you are chasing rank.

I would recommend avoiding Sheffield United players still as their performances haven’t looked great all season. Their fixture at home against Burnley is one they could potentially win, but they haven’t got a real talisman to go for, that we know will be involved in goals. With their second fixture being against Manchester United, I’d also avoid their defenders. I don’t expect them to keep a clean sheet in either games.

Which matches are still to be arranged?

The below matches still don’t have a date.

  • Brighton v Chelsea
  • Chelsea v Spurs
  • Man Utd v Newcastle
  • Spurs v Man City

Therefore, they could be played in either game week 35,36 or 37.

Looking at this list, Chelsea are Spurs are still both to play 2 double game weeks. As Spurs are blanking in game week 34 though, it’s worth waiting until after that game week before you decide to bring 2 or 3 of their players in. Chelsea, however, don’t blank in gameweek 34, and still have the most games left to play in the league. Cole Palmer springs to mind as being almost essential. Especially at his £5.7m price point.

This is also a good time to use chips, now that we have some official information. If you are on Wildcard, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Spurs players should be top of your shopping list. But remember to consider the timing of bringing in Spurs players.
